Completed
The scheduled maintenance has been completed.

Scheduled
For two weeks starting at the end of November, 2022, LuxSci will be upgrading all web servers that are currently running PHP v7.4 to PHP v8.0.

After this time, PHP v7.4 will no longer be supported by the PHP development community and will no longer be receiving security updates. As such, using PHP v7.4 after that date is not an option for security reasons. See:

https://endoflife.software/programming-languages/server-side-scripting/php

If you are on a server that is currently running PHP v7.4 and you are unsure if your web site fully supports PHP v8.0, we recommend that you review your site and verify support during the coming months, so that when the software on your server is updated, your site will keep on chugging along. If you are unsure if your server is running PHP v7.4, please contact LuxSci support or examine your dedicated server administration page. See also the list of backwards-incompatible changes to PHP:

https://www.php.net/manual/en/migration80.incompatible.php

Dedicated server customers can request that we upgrade their servers to PHP v8.0 at any time; they do not have to wait for November.

There is no option to continue to use PHP 7.4 after December 15th, 2022. To do so would be to leave your web site open to attackers and out of compliance.

Customers whose servers are currently running PHP v8.0 are not affected by this maintenance.

LuxSci support PHP v8.1 for dedicated customers in the spring. All customers on PHP v8 will be upgraded to PHP v8.1 in November of 2023, when PHP v8.0 reaches its end of life (we will make another announcement about that in about a year).
